Abstract | Public engagement and impact are key elements of publicly funded research. Medievalists have led the way in finding new opportunities, new partners and new media for impact. Following a 'view from the bridge' by a member of the REF panel in 2014 (Curry), this session will explore three current funded projects, each at a different stage of development, that have embraced the challenges of research impact. The session is sponsored by the Institute for the Public Understanding of the Past, one of very few units in the UK explicitly established to promote best practice in public engagement. |
