Abstract

Human emotion is at the heart of the romance genre. This panel consists of papers that examine how the emotions depicted in romance texts effect social interactions, religious experience, and core concepts of humanity, such as death. These papers acknowledge that these emotions flow through genres, regions, time, and society to show the raw humanity at the core of the romance tradition.
