Abstract

This panel will examine the memory of late medieval conflict and military leaders within them, discussing how writers remembered conflict and how military leaders were remembered as legends. The first paper studies the memory of John of Luxembourg and his legendary status as a military leader. The second paper looks at the Glyndwr rebellion and how the memory was used in a variety of ways. The final paper focuses on Island of Gotland and how they commemorated war and created local legends.
