| Abstract | This round table discussion, the culmination of four linked sessions on critical studies of Old English masculinities, seeks to address the future of the field of Old English masculinity studies. Our participants will discuss new directions in the field, ways in which medieval scholars can combat the appropriation of medieval masculinities by exclusionary ideologies and movements, and the contributions that the study of Old English masculinities can make to medieval gender studies and gender studies more broadly. Participants include Heide Estes (Monmouth University, New Jersey), Jacek Olesiejko (Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań), Dana Oswald (University of Wisconsin-Parkside), and Basil Arnould Price (University of York). |
