Abstract | Early medieval inventories are commonly found among Northern Iberian archival holdings, both as single-sheets and cartulary copies, but so far the problems that this particular type of records poses remain largely unscrutinised. Papers in this session will address questions related to the information inventories provide regarding serfs and serfdom, comparing sources from Galicia, Castile and Catalonia. This session is part of a sustained research effort on these sources coordinated by the Early Medieval Iberia Research Group and will be the fifth of a series of sessions that were first held at the IMC 2018. |
