Abstract | Transmission and creation of texts during the Middle Ages often involved a process of selection and appropriation of earlier works, which acquired a different meaning when inserted in a new context of transmission. This session will present four case studies that illustrate different modalities of this type of writing practices in the medieval Hispanic area, with the aim of exploring the re-signification that ancient and medieval Latin texts develop in their process of transmission and re-writing. |
