Abstract

This session aims to compare the structure of sales written by Castilian notaries throughout the 13th century. Sales are probably the most common type of charters preserved in the archives of the time, and this makes it possible to compare their diplomatic structure and establish internal borders within the kingdom. The influence of papal notaries and the dissemination of the legislative works of Alfonso X, including its formulary, allows identifying the development of differentiated 'diplomatic provinces'.
