Abstract | Nicholas of Cusa's De Visione Dei is one of the most important mystical works of the Late Middle Ages. It has long fascinated scholars for its ground-breaking treatment of themes of vision, perspective, and community in the mystical ascent, as well as its emphasis on the individual in their relationship to God. The papers in this session seek to offer new approaches to this seminal work, bridging sociology, metaphysics, and theology. |
