IMC 2022: Sessions

Session 1736: Southern France and the Mediterranean, III: A Round Table Discussion

Thursday 7 July 2022, 14.15-15.45

Organiser:Daniel Smail, Department of History, Harvard University
Moderator/Chair:John H. Arnold, King's College, University of Cambridge
Abstract

The sessions in the two series on 'Southern France and the Mediterranean' are designed to offer working examples of how the rich histories of Southern France in the later Middle Ages may be framed as Mediterranean histories. In this round table discussion, a group of distinguished historians whose research specialisations lie in regions adjacent to Southern France will offer general comments on the sessions they have attended and discuss how future work can further develop the connections between Southern France and its Mediterranean neighbors.

Participants include Frances Andrews (University of St Andrews), Paul Freedman (Yale University), Daniel Smail (Harvard University), and Lidia Luisa Zanetti Domingues (Università degli Studi di Milano).
