Abstract

This panel examines the relationships between oral and textual usage, and interactions between linguistic communities. Vrieland considers early medieval evidence for the interaction between Faroese and Danish. The session continues with Seiler and Wallis (co-presenters) and Pagan examining John of Garland's C13th Dictionarius for insights into language teaching and textual communities.
