Abstract

Dante Alighieri's works owe their success to Dante's capability to acquire and then re-elaborate numerous and heterogeneous sources. Among these, the sources most mentioned are Biblical, Classical, and esoteric sources. Despite this fact, another source that cannot be neglected is the presence of Dante's own early production, used in a self-exegetical way. The panel proposes to examine some of the occurrences in which all these different types of sources played in shaping Dante's works.
