Abstract | This session is part of a series on Byzantine Bodies. The session aims to explore the construction of Byzantine orthodoxies tightly intertwined with and dependent on the circumscription, differentiation, discipline, and punishment of apocryphal, polluted, or deviant bodies. The session aims to contextualise the epistemology of the beautiful, angelic, and immaculate as well as the relation of these concepts to the dominant normative power structure. |
