Abstract | The panel proposes to examine the modes with which Dante uses topographical elements and elements of communal reality to structure the Inferno. These elements, such as rivers, walls, bridges, and other features of the landscape and city of the 13th- and 14th-century are reconfigured to convey allegorical and symbolical meanings. |
