Sponsor:Brepols Publishers, Turnhout / Boydell & Brewer, Woodbridge
Organiser:Rosalind Bonté, Brepols Publishers, Turnhout

Abstract

Academic research and publishing go hand-in-hand; the ultimate aim of research is to share findings, and publishers offer a bridge that can connect you and your work to the wider academic world. But publishing can often seem a daunting prospect. In this session, two leading academic publishers join forces to offer a wide-ranging introduction to how publishing 'works'. The round table brings together editors, marketing managers, series editors, copyeditors, and early career researchers to discuss issues of interest to scholars at all career stages. Topics covered include the role of a press as part of the scholarly community, publishing monographs and edited collections, the future of print in an online world, and publishing as an alternative academic career.

Participants include Rosie Bonté (Brepols Publishers, Turnhout), Lesley Coote (University of Hull), and Jirki Thibaut (Brepols Publishers, Turnhout).
