Abstract

Medieval saints did not work in isolation from the world around them. Both the saints themselves, and the cults that flourished after their deaths, were deeply enmeshed in the religious and social environments in which they lived and operated. This session will consider the networks that surrounded and were generated by medieval saints and their cults, and how these networks can be traced to better illuminate the distinctly 'networked' character of medieval spirituality.
