Abstract

This multidisciplinary panel will examine the development of royal, secular, and ecclesiastical networks of power and community in Yorkshire. Emily Robinson will explore the links of the lost town of Ravenser Odd to Yorkshire's Viking past, and the continued cultural effect of this association. Yuki Sugiyama will focus on a marginal annotation in the Lincoln Thornton Manuscript to explore how Late Medieval Ryedale was entangled in webs of literature, devout book lovers, nuns, and nobles.
