Abstract

For a long time, the Middle Ages were considered a period of a regulated economy with few market relations. This image has changed in recent decades. In two Ars Vendendi sessions we want to show that the commercialisation of medieval society also led to sellers fighting for market share, using methods of advertising and marketing. This second session will focus on haggling and other sales techniques, as well as on the particular fields of the university and book printing.
