Abstract

The two sessions 'Manuscripts and Networks in the High Middle Ages' focus on the use, interpretation, reassignment and dissemination of authoritative theological texts in the 12th and 13th centuries. The papers approach different religious texts from the perspective of their manuscript transmission and use in changing contexts. For instance, the Homilary of Angers, the writings of Honorius Augustodunensis as well as several texts transmitted in manuscripts from Chartres can be seen in light of the interests and agency of particular ecclesiastical networks, such as monastic orders or cathedral clergy.
