Abstract

Foreign relations are an integral aspect for our understanding of late antique geopolitics, but also the relationship of frontiers and boundaries between internal and external groups. The world of Late Antiquity was highly interconnected, and, in this panel, papers have a particular focus on the interconnectivity between empires across the Mediterranean and Central Asia. Discussion will take place on how various empires interacted with one another in this turbulent time and how they impacted or dealt with one another's endurance or defeat.
