Abstract | The final session on the materiality of manuscripts focuses on digital manuscript studies and the representation of materiality. Presenting a model for handwritten text recognition, Yatsyk discusses potentials for improving the quality of the transcribed text. Focusing on a new digital edition of the Old English Soliloquies, Treschow considers how the markup serves to mediate the digital facsimile. Using the case of the recent edition of Pennsylvania, Penn Libraries, MS Roll 1066, Porter discusses the challenges associated with displaying and publishing medieval rolls. |
