Abstract

The session presents a research project of the Institut für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung which intends to provide a survey on urban, ecclesiastical and seignieurial hospitals in Europe. From the range of the regions to be included, 3 examples - England, Hungary, Southern Germany - are chosen to address the questions on sources, legal and social function, target groups and excluded persons, organization and perceptions of the hospitals
