For the fifth year in a row, we are pleased to make the IMC fully hybrid via our virtual platform. We will once again be working with Conference Exchange (Confex) to make IMC 2026 hybrid for our more than 2,700 registered delegates. As in previous years, the Confex virtual platform will enable attendees from around the globe to participate live in IMC sessions both as presenters and audience members.

If your plans have changed and are no longer able to attend or present in person, it is essential you let us know by emailing [email protected] as soon as possible so that we can update our records and make the necessary arrangements to support the hybrid delivery of your session. Unfortunately as we are past the 01 May 2026 registration deadline, we are unable to offer refunds to delegates changing to virtual attendance.

The virtual platform will be accessible via web browsers, as well as via apps for iOS and Android. The app can be downloaded on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Delegates will have received an email from [email protected] which gives you all the information you need to access the app and update your schedule.

As at the most recent IMCs, recordings of almost all sessions will be available to via the platform from around 48 hours after the session finished. Only registered delegates can watch the recordings, which will be available on Confex until 21 September 2026. Those sessions which have requested not to be recorded will be clearly marked in the IMC 2026 app. If you do not want your session to be recorded, please email us at [email protected] as soon as possible so we can quickly remove the session from the recording list.

Confex will also contain a wide variety of different functions. These include a calendar feature to easily schedule events, workshops, excursions, and receptions efficiently, which would show alongside the sessions in which you would be a speaker, moderator, or organiser. You can easily search for sessions and papers by keyword, strand theme, or contributor, so you can add sessions to your calendar which you would want to attend or watch recorded later.

Confex also has helpful maps and plans of campus, as well as networking and socialising tools which enable delegates to connect with old and new friends during the IMC. You can even connect with publishers, booksellers, and exhibitors via the platform. Delegates are also given the chance to generate their certificate of participation to proudly present to their friends, family, and institutions.
