Abstract

The general idea of this session is to deliberately avoid the middle of the Middle Ages. It will focus not on Northern Europe, but on the Mediterranean. It will focus not on the Central Middle Ages, but on the Early Middle Ages and the Late Gothic. It will focus not on the work of comfortably established scholars, but on the work of younger scholars whose work might not yet have reached the wider audience it deserves.
