Abstract

This session, the first of three submitted, will focus on explicating Old English heroic poetry, a major interest of the honorand, Professor Donald Scragg, a senior Anglo-Saxonist, Director of the Manchester Centre for Anglo-Saxon Studies. All three sessions involve established scholars, who will present new research on aspects of Early English texts and their cultural contexts.
