| Abstract | Late medieval monastic reform movements have received much scholarly attention in the past 25 years, especially in the German speaking countries. Still, a lot of work needs to be done in this field. In particular, a comparative approach between the different orders and geographical regions is lacking. In our two sessions, we'd like to present and compare the research projects which are being conducted into these reform movements by different scholars and students at this very moment. We'd like to discuss the impact of the findings of our participants on our understanding of the observance movement in the monastic orders in general and on our understanding of late medieval society at large. |
