Abstract

The papers in this session will explore various dimensions of the (heretofore neglected) spirituality of the Wycliffite or Lollard dissenters of late medieval England. Participants are co-editors of a volume of translations of Wycliffite texts, entitled 'Wycliffite Spirituality', to be published in 2010 by Paulist Press; their papers will explore the positive spirituality to be discerned in Wycliffe's sermons, the vernacular writings of Wycliffe's followers, and the trials of suspected heretics.
