This roundtable will be the inaugural discussion of the Origins of Firepower Research Group and will seek to begin to define the boundaries and parameters for the study of the beginning of effective firepower on the battlefield from the 15th to the 17th centuries. Each panel member will give a very brief introductory statement as to the importance of different branches of the study and then with the participation of the speakers from the previous two sessions, open the discussion to each other and the audience for further elaboration.

Participants include Anne Curry (University of Southampton), Kelly DeVries (Loyola College, Maryland), Glenn Foard (University of Leeds), and Graeme Rimer (The Royal Armouries, Leeds).
