Abstract

The land acquired by Cistercian monasteries in Wiltshire and Yorkshire and their subsequent development will in this session be explored, charted, and interpreted, while a little-known marriage between noble families in Carinthia and Champagne during the Crusades led to an important connection to the Cistercian order and probably the Templars of Carniola.
