Abstract

The aim of the session is to give a survey of the local parish priest's relations to his parishioners. One aspect of this is the priest's function as a role model for his parishioners with regard to his way of living. Another is the priest's responsibility for poor people. A third one are conflicts that could appear between the priest and his parishioners as a result of financial dealings. All the three papers deal with the relationship between prescriptions in different legal sources (canon law, provincial and synodal statutes, and secular law) that represent the ideal and preserved legal cases that often represent reality.
