Abstract | This round table is aimed at Masters and PhD students, as well as at medievalists considering careers outside the traditional academic environment. In light of the short-term contracts and reduced funding in HE, this is a common decision for 21st century post-graduates. The panel is composed of participants from a number of sectors, including media, archives, publishing, landscape heritage, and local government. This is a unique opportunity to hear professionals - all of whom have successfully undertaken PhDs themselves - discuss career paths, and for you to pose questions and seek advice on your future vocation. Participants include Ellie Pridgeon (University of Leicester / Precise Media, London), Kimm Curran (University of Glasgow), Robert Kinsey (Boydell & Brewer, Woodbridge), and John Lee (North Yorkshire County Council, Northallerton). |
