Abstract | In the section the attitudes towards 'Others' in urban societies of medieval Dalmatia and Slavonia will be discussed. The first paper will deal with the attitude of the urban elites of medieval Slavonian cities toward those they considered the others, both inside and outside the cities. The second paper will focus on the Ragusan perceptions and attitudes towards immigrants that were coming to Dubrovnik in the late Middle Ages and creating a distinctive social group (cittadini Ragusei). The final paper will deal with the treatment of migrants from Bosnia by Dalmatian authorities (sheltering and aiding, sending them further away). |
