Abstract

This panel examines how romance texts interact with other literary genres of the medieval period, from hagiography to exempla to dream visions. These papers pose questions not only about how such genres influence romance narrative, but how romance extends beyond its fictive remit to create dialogue with other literary genres and, through that dialogue, impact, and shape society.
