| Abstract | An open assembly for anyone interested in anarchist approaches to the Middle Ages. Contributors may address the challenges and opportunities of our present moment of environmental and political crisis and the suffocating effect of institutional policies and government / market demands on universities. What are our arts of resistance? Can we create intellectual zomias for research and pedagogy - spaces of strategic, non-hierarchical, and creative un-intelligibility resistant to neoliberal higher education? How can we teach the medieval past in a way that takes account of the needs of the future? What strategies in anti-authoritarian education work for you? Participants include Sarah-Nelle Jackson (University of British Columbia), Delfi Nieto-Isabel (Universitat de Barcelona), Amanda Power (University of Oxford), Claire Taylor (University of Nottingham), and Simon Stuart Yarrow (University of Birmingham). |
