| Abstract | Early medieval inventories are commonly found among northern Iberian archival holdings, both as single sheets and cartulary copies, but so far the problems that this particular type of record poses remain largely unscrutinised. Participants in the round table discussion will consider the potential of this type of source to illuminate different aspects of early medieval societies, from the materiality behind the lists of objects to estate management practices. This round table discussion is part of a sustained research effort on these sources coordinated by the Early Medieval Iberia Research Group and will be the sixth of a series of sessions that were first held at the IMC in 2018. Participants include Graham Barrett (University of Lincoln), Álvaro Carvajal Castro (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), Madrid), Jonathan Jarrett (University of Leeds), and André Evangelista Marques (Universidade Nova de Lisboa). |
