Abstract | The challenge about ideas of an authentic game arises not only by discussing if a game is 'historical accurate' or not. If the reconstructed (alleged) stratificatoric medieval society faces modern and postmodern views on issues like sexism, racism and culturalism. Academics, players, and developers must find solutions to balance those two poles. This session shall discuss problematic implements as well as creative approaches in games. What can the academia see by countercheck the views on history players and developers have and otherwise, how can medievalists come in touch with developers and players, besides, they are often in personal union. |
