Abstract

This round table discussion shall open up room for a discussion on the terms authenticity, accuracy, and realism relating to medieval games. Is there a good way to define those terms for future discourses inside Game and Medieval Studies? Are there strategies for medievalists to encounter the gaming community to critique the more problematic aspects of games without setting themselves up as moral killjoys who ruin the fun?

Participants include Robert Houghton (University of Winchester), Jan Kremer (Akademie věd České republiky, Praha), and Tobias Schade (Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen).
