Abstract

These presentations will build on research published in 2016 when the team set out to investigate the sun's role in the churches of the 11 extant Cistercian Abbeys in Wales by treating each abbey within its setting, rather than ignoring the landscape around it as previous similar studies had done. That research will be extended by looking at Cistercian abbey churches in England, Scotland, and the island of Ireland.
