Abstract

This session forms part of a four session strand on Dynasty and Court Culture in Byzantium and the Near East. The three papers in this session focus on the late Roman court. Danielle Slootjes focuses on the nature of the courts as travelling courts. Nicholas Baker-Brian considers the career of the Constantinian Caesar Gallus. Christian Rollinger examines child-emperors and court ceremonial.
