Abstract

This session shall offer a platform to discuss recent research into the history of Muslim rule in Sicily. By offering a focused overview of recent scholarship in the fields of archaelogy, textual studies, and material culture, it will seek to challenge established narratives, redefine the parameters of current historical discourse, and offer new insights into questions of legal culture, historiography, trade, connectivity, and commerce.
