| Abstract | This session is presented by members of the ERC project Armenia Entangled: Connectivity and Cultural Encounters in Medieval Eurasia 9th - 14th Centuries (ArmEn) and its sister project HAI Mobility, both led by P.I. Prof. Zaroui Pogossian at the University of Florence. ArmEn focuses on a vast region stretching from the southern Caucasus to Anatolia and northern Mesopotamia, a polycentric space of moving people(s) and cultural entanglements that was at the same time at the crossroads of expanding Eurasian empires and removed from major hubs of power. Within this fluid and complex environment, the papers included in the session assess different reactions and responses to individual and/or collective crises through the lens of material and textual sources. |
