Abstract

Following a long tradition, the Medieval Animal Data Network continues to organise round tables discussing the role of one specific animal in medieval society and environment. This year, it is the beaver that plays a particular role with regard to human-animal relations. The members of the panel will offer some introductory remarks and the audience is invited to contribute to a lively discussion on zoological, economic, theological, and religious, as well as social and didactic aspects.

Participants include Alice Choyke (Central European University, Budapest/Wien), Polina Ignatova (Linköping universitet), Dolly Jørgensen (Universitetet i Stavanger), and Kaila Yankelevich (University of Bristol).
