Abstract

Marking the 40th anniversary of a series that includes the largest selection of Bedan translations in print, this session features three papers that discuss Bede’s praxis. We examine the cross-fertilisation between his own works as well as the debt he owed to other canonical authors. A response to the papers will feature the reflections of the most prominent current translator of Bede’s oeuvre.
