Abstract

This session will offer new insights to medieval lived religion, exploring how ordinary people ‘lived out’ their relationships to the sacred, the supernatural and their families and communities. The second session (of four) focuses on distinctive regional practices, challenging the perception that Christian material culture was homogeneous throughout medieval Europe.
