Abstract

The session brings together contributions that explore the many dimensions of narrative and temporality within the broader context of medieval Armenian culture. Narratives—whether expressed visually or textually—functioned as essential means through which cultural memory, identity, and theological meaning were shaped, transmitted, and reinterpreted. From this perspective, the session aims to trace continuities between visual and written media, examining how both articulated and transformed iconographic traditions and cultural expressions. Special attention is given to the ways in which these media not only mirrored but also actively redefined cultural and religious discourses over time.
