| Abstract | The NPPM Project housed at the Universität Tübingen contains over 450,000 records from between the 4th and 12th centuries, primarily drawn from the Nomen et Gens project and the Datenbank Mittelalterlicher Personennamen, which was begun at the Universität Münster in the 1960s. It allows users to search for individuals using any spelling of the name and to filter by date, office, and source/source collection. This session will introduce the newest version of the database, with examples of searches used for current research. Audience members are encouraged to bring their computers to do their own searches during the session. Participants include Cullen Chandler (Department of History, Lycoming College, Pennsylvania), Steffen Patzold (Seminar für mittelalterliche Geschichte, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen), Julie Hofmann (Department of History, Shenandoah University, Virginia)) |
