MedievalWiki Wikidata at Leeds IMC 2026 will offer medieval studies scholars an accessible and engaging introduction to Wikidata. During the workshop, participants will create and edit Wikidata items related to their research: adding scholarly works, articles, and notable people to the database. In doing so, we will help you improve the coverage of women, queer, and non-binary scholars, as well as scholars of colour, in addition to incorporating intersectional scholarship that develops the use of feminist, queer, and critical race theories in medieval studies.

No previous Wiki expertise is required. Please bring a WiFi-enabled laptop or tablet on which to start editing. Wikidata is multilingual and, although training will be offered in English, we encourage editing and participation across languages.

This workshop will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive promptly to secure a place as there is limited capacity.
